Honoring the legacy of Kermit Coleman, this program provides funding, mentorship, and exposure for students pursuing law, advocacy, and civic leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Age

Must be 17 years of age or older.

Education

Must have a high school diploma, or a G.E.D. certificate, or an officially sealed high school transcript (8-credit min.).

Valid ID

Must have a valid driver’s license or state identification.

Social Security Card

Must have a social security card or receipt showing duplicate card has been applied for.

Fees

Submit a $25 non-refundable application processing fee. Cashier’s check or money
order only.

  • The application must be brought — in person —to the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council Apprentice and Training Program located at 1256 Estes Ave., Elk Grove Village, IL between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • Upon completing the union application, you will be required to:

    • Pass a proficiency test

    • Be physically fit to work as a carpenter with no restrictions

    • Pass a drug test
